It’s the best way to make dessert, in my opinion, especially when the oven is full of other things or when it’s hot outside and you don’t want to use the oven. From cakes to brownies to candy and fudge, the crockpot is an easy way to make a sweet treat.

Tips for Using a Crockpot to Make Dessert

• It’s important to know how your crockpot cooks before baking in it. All slow cookers cook differently, and some have hot spots in one area or another. Knowing this ahead of time will help you bake with success.
• Condensation always forms on the lid while the crock pot is on. To avoid all that wetness dropping onto your dessert and making it soggy, place a paper towel on the insert and place the lid on top. This way the towel catches the condensation, not your cake.
• Bake times in a slow cooker can vary. This is due to whether you’re using low or high heat and, like mentioned above, that all cookers have hot spots or can run hotter or cooler. Think of bake time like a range, where you need to check on your dessert.
