BEST No Bake S’mores Bars

I don’t like camping or the outdoors, so no bake s’mores bars are my life all year long! And when they’re this easy to make? PERFECTION.

There’s no complaining about these, especially because I don’t have to camp to eat them. And we all love how much I love my indoor s’mores. In fact, I never make them outdoors; I just make them into s’mores cookies and s’mores dip and s’mores cookie bars and s’mores pie.

Just 4 Ingredients

I don’t think these s’more bars are a new invention. I’m pretty sure there are about a gazillion recipes for this on Pinterest. I decided not to google and let myself think that I’m so freaking smart.

  • Cereal: It was a way to make s’mores in about 5 minutes without going outside and I got to use one of the best cereals ever: smores bars with Golden Grahams.
  • Chocolate: Just basic chocolate chips.
  • Crisco or Oil: To help melt the chocolate
  • Marshmallows: Mini ones are best.

How to make S’mores Bars

  • Add your chocolate and crisco to a bowl.
  • Melt the chocolate.
  • Mix in your cereal and marshmallows.
  • Press into a pan, chill and boom. No Bake S’mores Bars. So easy kids can make them.

Expert Tips

  • Use shortening or oil to smooth out the chocolate. You can leave out that last part but then it’ll be really hard to cut the bars. So…don’t leave it out. You can use Crisco or vegetable/canola/coconut oil.
  • These are perfect in a 9×9 or 8×8 pan.

Storing and Make Ahead Instructions

Make Ahead: You can make these ahead of time – up to 2 weeks if stored properly.

Storing: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Freezing: You can freeze them too! However the chocolate may dull a bit upon thawing.

Some sort of graham cracker or cookie, chocolate, and marshmallow!

What can I use instead of graham crackers for s’mores?

This recipe uses graham cracker cereal (Golden Grahams) but you can use any cereal you like, or use chopped cookies instead.

Instructions

  • Line an 8×8” pan with foil and spray with cooking spray. (This is for easy removal from the pan.)
  • Place the chocolate chips and shortening or oil in a large microwave safe bowl. Heat in 30 second increments, stirring after each, until the chocolate is melted and smooth. (About 1-2 minutes in an 1100W microwave.)
  • Stir in the Golden Grahams and marshmallows. Pour into prepared pan. Press to compact (this is a messy step!) Chill until set. Slice into squares.
  • These melt like candy, so I suggest keeping them in the refrigerator if you’re not eating them right away. They taste best after the sit at room temperature for a few minutes. Store in an airtight container; they’ll last about a week.

  1. Oh, YUM! Since I was on the receiving end of some of these I can tell you that they are great. I wish I had some now!
    xoxo

  2. Ah the struggle – love shorts, hate sweating. Thank goodness for AC … and root beer floats. Summer, you are tricky!
These are anything but! If there are recipes like this on Pinterest, they don’t compete with your photo. You have amazing lighting in these! And on top of that, you used Golden Grahams, aka one of the most addictive cereals on earth. No bake bars are the death of my self control, but I’ll happily let it die … just so long as my AC doesn’t! Pinned!

    1. Thanks for the pin Mary Frances! And thank you, I liked the lighting. I swear one day is so different from the next!

  3. I try to stay away from the sugary cereals, but I do cave and buy an occasional box of Golden Grahams. They are so good! These no-bake s’mores look amazing! My kids would love to help me make (and eat!) them!

  4. Yes, I’ve been wanting to make something like for forever! Your pictures are beautiful! I think golden grahams cereal might be even better than graham crackers. I could totally eat kid cereal all the time. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is my weak spot. Anything coated in cinnamon and sugar. Sigh.

  5. These look wonderful! I love Golden Grahams, it is one of the kid cereals that I do like. But if I ever buy it, my family eats it first 🙁 Time to find a secret hiding spot!
Thanks for the link to my pancakes

  6. I love how easy these are to throw together, Dorothy! And I love the addition of golden grahams in here, too. I haven’t had that cereal in years!

  7. Whenever I go to San Fran, I complain nonstop about being freezing! But it’s a great city.
And Golden Grahams is one of my most fave cereals of all time! Love this! Let me know if PB gets in there!

  8. These look like a dessert I wanted to create 3-4 years ago with GG’s! I love that cereal, always have, but my smores were more loose and messy and I love how yours is portable and compact. Not that I’d be porting them around anywhere other than straight into my mouth 🙂 pinned
