Sprinkle Pancakes and KICMount

Sprinkle Pancakes are a great way to start your Saturday! Add some sprinkles to your pancake batter and watch your kids smile. Then freeze them for the week!

These Sprinkle Pancakes aren’t new to this blog. But please…don’t go looking for them. I beg of you.

They majorly needed a facelift because they seriously are my favorite pancakes ever to make on Saturday mornings.

You know what else I love to do on Saturday mornings? Check Facebook and drink coffee. That’s kind of hard to do while I’m frying pancakes. Pancakes take sooooo long to make. Pour, wait. Flip, wait. Repeat a gazillion times.

You know what I wish I could do while I’m waiting for my pancakes to cook? Blog. Check Facebook. Read about the latest celebrity meltdown.

And I can, thanks to my KICMount!

Using my KICMount, I can stick my iPad onto the fridge and surf the internet while I make pancakes in the morning. I can even catch up on The View, or play angry birds. Something to keep me from the boredom of pour, wait. Flip, repeat.

I’ve talked about the KICMount a lot here over the past few months. I use it in my kitchen all the time. It sticks on the fridge and my iPad is safe from spills. I can call up recipes so I don’t need to print them. My ulterior motive for printing these Sprinkle Pancakes again is so that I no longer need to dig through my stack of cookbooks for the recipe. I can just use my iPad and my KICMount to make my Saturday morning go a little easier.

{Weird, but I kinda liked it sideways. So I left it that way!}

You can see from the photos – there isn’t any syrup with these pancakes. I’ve trained my daughter – ask for sprinkles and you don’t need syrup! It saves about a bajillion calories, and she needs those for all the cookies I’ll bribe her with later in the day.

This is a super easy, quick pancake recipe. Throw in some sprinkles at the end and your plate will be way prettier!

Sprinkle Pancakes

Sprinkle Pancakes make breakfast fun! Serve these to your kids and skip the syrup, then freeze the extra for during the week.

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tired banana, mashed + enough milk to make 1 1/4 cups
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs

  1. If you’re using a griddle, begin to preheat. I use an electric one and I set it for about 350 degrees.
  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium sized bowl. Mash banana in a large measuring cup. Add a little milk and stir them together, then add more milk until the measuring cup reads 1 1/4 cups. (You will use about 3/4 cup of milk). Whisk in oil, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Then whisk the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Add your sprinkles and stir.
  4. Spray your griddle with nonstick cooking spray, or use butter to grease it. (I’ve used both, depends on my mood.) Ladle the pancakes one by one onto the griddle and cook until bubbly. Flip and cook until golden on the bottom.

  32. Had to leave a quick note and say that this recipe showed up on my pinterest page and knew my kids would flip for it!  I actually ended up using the batter exactly as written in my waffle stick maker.  They loved them and I’m freezing the rest for easy school morning breakfasts.  Thanks so much for the fabulous recipe!
