Triple Chocolate Oreo Cookies

These Triple Chocolate Oreo Cookies will satisfy your chocolate craving! More than three kinds of chocolate AND Oreos, all in one cookie!

Will you forgive me if I just jump into how amazeballs these cookies are?

I made these cookies last Sunday. Along with three other kinds of cookies, for “If you give a teacher cookies…” day on Monday.

On Monday, I made five breakfast recipes – and photographed them, for “If you give a teacher breakfast…” day on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Jordan got grounded from TV until after school Friday. Even if you don’t work from home without childcare…you probably get how that means I was kind of grounded too.

Today? Today is Thursday. I’m making 8 dozen cupcakes for “If you give a teacher a cupcake…” day tomorrow.

Tomorrow I’m going to start drinking at 9am sleep.

And, I know I have a baking blog and all that, but OMG if I see my oven or my sink full of dirty dishes again I am going to scream.

So…let’s talk cookies. That’s much less stressful.

I like cookies. Especially chocolate ones.

When I eat a chocolate cookie I want it to be CHOCOLATE, you know what I mean? Like, I want the chocolate to stand up and punch me in the face.

That’s what these cookies do. But in a good way.

I called them Triple Chocolate Oreo Cookies, but that’s kind of a lie. There’s actually FOUR kinds of chocolate in them. But no one searches on Google for “Quadruple Chocolate Oreo Cookies.” I’m nothing if not a SEO slave.

Melted semi-sweet chocolate and cocoa powder give the base of these cookies a wham-o chocolate flavor.

Then I filled them with a full cup each of semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips.

Oh, and then there’s Oreos. It would seem I’m obsessed with Oreos lately. I mean, Oreo Peanut Butter Popcorn. And Oreo Peanut Butter. And now…Oreos in my cookies. But do y’all really mind?

Triple Chocolate Oreo Cookies

Three kinds of chocolate meet in a rich cookie - and there are Oreos in them too!


  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted and cooled

  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 8-10 Oreos, chopped (about 1 1/2 cups)


  1. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat both sugars, butter, vanilla, and eggs until smooth. Beat in melted baking chocolate and cocoa powder. Beat in flour and baking soda until well blended. Stir in all the chocolate chips and Oreo pieces.

  2. Chill dough for at least 1 hour. You can also chill it for about 30 minutes, then scoop balls of dough on the cookie sheets and chill those for about 10 minutes and you’ll net the same result as chilling the bowl of dough for an hour.

  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment or a silpat. Drop cookie dough balls (I used a 2 tablespoon cookie scoop) onto your cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. (The dough does spread). Bake for 8-9 minutes, or until the top just stop looking glossy (you’ll start to smell them too). Cool completely before removing from cookie sheets.

{Note: as detailed in the recipe, you MUST chill the dough. There is a lot of butter in there and they will spread super thin if the dough isn’t cold! But the chocolate explosion is worth the wait, believe me!}

  1. OMG you’re right, these are amazeballs! I hate having sinks full of dirty dishes too. When I lived in Florida it was almost always me loading/unloading the dishwasher because I hated seeing the dishes my roommates always left in the sink. It’s just icky.

  11. Um, I would be the person googling quadruple chocolate cookies:) But oh my goodness gracious – if you are going to make a chocolate cookie, it better be this one from here on out. Chocolate at its best! And I cannot imagine how much baking you have been doing. True dedication is shown by washing the same bowl three times in an hour. (I haven’t been able to bake this week, so I actually can’t wait to get in the kitchen and dirty some dishes!) I would totally wash your dishes for you if you let me have one of these cookies:)

    • Right? I only have one Kitchen Aid Bowl and one other bowl big enough to be the “in a large bowl” bowl. I have washed them both so many times this week! 🙂

  35. As a former teacher, i can attest to how necessary it is for teacher’s to feel appreciated. I’m sure they felt the love you put into all those treats. I love Oreos, too, but I always feel guilty using them because they contain palm oil. I hope they switch to a sustainable source soon so I can eat them all the time. I really want to try these cookies!
