Slutty Brownies are the most decadent and outrageous bar cookie you’ll ever try: chocolate chip cookies on the bottom, brownies on the top, and Oreos in the center. Normally this recipe is made with pre-packaged dough and box mixes but my recipe is completely from scratch. Almost every blogger has made some version of this recipe but if you’re looking for the BEST Slutty Brownie recipe, look no further.

Slutty Brownies FROM SCRATCH
Okay let’s just put it out there that I’m not in love with the name of these brownies. It’s a little awkward to call them slutty when really, they’re just outrageous and amazing. (Slutty isn’t really a word I like to use, anyway.)
However, people DO search for them and since I’ve been making them for years I figured I needed to finally post the recipe. I couldn’t call them Brookies (although basically, that’s what they are) because I already have a recipe for those.
Let’s just agree the name isn’t great but the bars ARE.
Besides Slutty, we could also call these one of many other names: Chocolate Chip Oreo Brownies, Crazy Brownies, ULTIMATE Brownies, Ultimate Slutty Brownies…and so many more names.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Layer
- They’re easy cookies that start with melted butter, so you don’t need a mixer.
- Stir together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Then stir in an egg, vanilla, baking soda, and salt, and then the all purpose flour. Chocolate chips are last – but not least!
- Normally when I make these as cookies you have to chill the dough, but when you’re making cookie bars you can skip that step.
Brownie Layer
My favorite brownie recipe has three important things about it:
- It’s one bowl, one spoon, no mixer,
- It has baking chocolate you melt with the butter,
- AND it has cocoa powder you add after you stir in the sugar and eggs.
- Once you make the brownie layer, you’re ready to assemble!
Tips for how to make Slutty Brownies
- You’re going to want a 9×13-inch pan for this recipe, one with 2″ sides. Use metal or glass, whichever you prefer.
- You can also make these in muffin tins if you want Oreo Cookie Brownie Cupcakes!
- I like to cover the pan with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray to make removal and slicing easier.
- First, press the chocolate chip cookie dough into the bottom of the pan.
- Then, top with about 24 Oreos. I used regular Oreos but you could use double stuff or any flavor you want.
- Top the Oreos with the brownie batter. Spread it evenly to cover the cookies.
Storing Oreo Cookie Brownies
First of all, I suggest small squares for serving. These pack a punch and they’re perfect dessert for a crowd.
Store in an airtight container on the counter, or freeze for up to one month. Learn how I freeze all my desserts!

FAQs
This recipe originated with a blogger who called them something different, then another blogger made them and re-named them for shock value – and they went viral.
Freeze these in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
Feel free to swap out refrigerated cookie dough (one log) and/or one box brownie mix (plus the ingredients to make the brownies). But I love this from scratch version best!

I found these baked a lot better for me at 325F, for about an hour. Covered with foil until the last 15 minutes or so.
30 mins at 350 the center was not cooked, took a lot longer but ended up a bit dry and crispy for my taste.
I am using a steel 9×13 instead of glass, which may have contributed.
Massive disappointment!
Followed the recipe to the dot, it came out crispy on the outside and completely raw inside.
I’m sorry that happened – chances are your oven was baking a bit hotter. When that happens sometimes lowering the oven temp can help, or covering the dish loosely with foil.
Wonder how they would taste with Fudgeeo cookies instead of oreos
Any cookies would work!
Is it 367 cal for all 24 of them or is it 367 cal for just one?
Nutrition info is not guaranteed to be accurate. I assume just one.
They look amazing! I need to make them and prep ahead of time. How long would they last after baking? Also can I make the dough and batter a day orso ahead of time? Thank you!
They’ll last a few days in an airtight container on the counter or you can freeze them for up to 2 months. You can make the cookie dough ahead but don’t make the brownie batter ahead.
This was so delicious. I’ve also made boxed brownies and this was not only easy but so good!! Thanks for sharing!!
I made these brownies not too long ago for a family BBQ. They were an absolute hit! Everyone was asking me for the recipe! Will definitely make again.
You could call them Chippy Brownies….lol Pretty close to the same feel as slutty. I totally get why you don’t like to use the word slutty, I’m that way too. Another one that bothers me, is Crack ‘anything’. When we have such a drug problem why on earth make it sound like drugs, or crack is just a casual thing? I would not feed crack to my family that I love and cherish.
I’m looking forward to trying your ‘3 Layered Brownies’. Thank you for the recipe.
I LIKE THE IDEA OF THE CUPCAKES TOO. ANY TEMPERATURE OR TIME CHANGES??
I like the idea of making these into “cupcakes”. How long should I bake them? Any changes to the recipe? Thanks!
I did 20-25 minutes and they turned out pretty good !
