Looking for a quick and easy no-bake treat the kids can make? Look no further, these Movie Theatre Krispies Treats are what you need!

Movie Candy Rice Krispies Treats - this easy no bake recipe has just 4 ingredients! Have them ready in time for movie night!

It’s almost summer, can you feel it? We have 2 weeks left until there’s no more homework, no more books, no more mommy’s dirty looks (when you don’t do your projects on time, that is). I’ve never looked forward for a month to be over as much as I have this May. Recitals, open house, projects, tests; 5th grade is HARD.

I look forward to a lot of things in the summer, like vacations and the beach and day trips, but I also look forward to summer movies. It seems that Hollywood has a kid-movie dry spell from January through June and every time we feel like heading to the theatre there’s nothing under PG-13 showing, but in summer? Summer is all about the movies! Jordan and I are looking forward to Finding Dory and The Secret Life of Pets the most. (The latter has a pug in it named Mel. We always talk about getting a pug…and my husband’s name is Mel…so it’s especially hysterical to us.) And me? I’ll be the first one in line to see the latest Bourne movie. I am so excited to see that one I might explode!

Because it’s so hot here in summer, we often do movie-days-in, where we rent movies and eat snacks all day. This summer I anticipate a marathon of Harry Potter happening, since we’re planning to go to Universal Studios next fall. I also can’t wait to watch Clueless with Jordan. I know, it’s entirely inappropriate, but I have been dying to watch it with her forever!

What movies are you looking forward to? Regardless of whether you’re binge watching at home or going to the theatre, you need snacks, and these Movie Candy Krispies Treats are THE snack you need!

  1. oh my gosh. i could eat these all day. such an amazingly delicious recipe dorothy – i cannot get enough of the photos too!

  2. These look perfect for a movie at home!  I just watched Dirty Dancing with our 13-year-old, which was a little inappropriate, but nothing compared to what she has heard boys in her class discussing.  Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was in our local movie theater a few weeks ago, so we saw that too.  Anyone…..? Anyone……?

  3. How fun! I love rice krispie treats so much and I love how you added the movie candy 🙂

  4. I am a Rice Krispies Treats addict! Seriously if I could have that or a fancy schmancy dessert, I’d go with the RKTs. I would go to town on your movie snacks!

  5. I don’t have any kids to show age-inappropriate movies to, but I do have a boyfriend that loathes the outdoors, loves movies and has a weird affinity for rice krispies treats. I have a feeling this will be perfect for date night in!

  6. There are SO many movies I want to see with the kids this Summer. We’ve already gone to see Jungle Book, but Lucy is BEGGING to go see it again. These little treats are such a fun and easy Summer project!

  7. I can’t wait for Secret Life of Pets and Finding Dory either! And I’d totally sneak some of these krispies into the theater too. 🙂

  8. Clueless is a great pick. I’ve always wanted to watch Ferris Bueller with my kids, but that will have to wait. And we’re almost ready for The Princess Bride! As far as new ones, I’m excited about the new Star Trek in July! Yep, nerd. I know.
This is the perfect movie snack! I love my krispie treats blinged out with candy!

    1. YES! The Princess Bride. I need to watch that one with them – my husband has never seen it. !!!
