Movie Theatre Krispies Treats

Looking for a quick and easy no-bake treat the kids can make? Look no further, these Movie Theatre Krispies Treats are what you need!

Movie Candy Rice Krispies Treats - this easy no bake recipe has just 4 ingredients! Have them ready in time for movie night!

It’s almost summer, can you feel it? We have 2 weeks left until there’s no more homework, no more books, no more mommy’s dirty looks (when you don’t do your projects on time, that is). I’ve never looked forward for a month to be over as much as I have this May. Recitals, open house, projects, tests; 5th grade is HARD.

I look forward to a lot of things in the summer, like vacations and the beach and day trips, but I also look forward to summer movies. It seems that Hollywood has a kid-movie dry spell from January through June and every time we feel like heading to the theatre there’s nothing under PG-13 showing, but in summer? Summer is all about the movies! Jordan and I are looking forward to Finding Dory and The Secret Life of Pets the most. (The latter has a pug in it named Mel. We always talk about getting a pug…and my husband’s name is Mel…so it’s especially hysterical to us.) And me? I’ll be the first one in line to see the latest Bourne movie. I am so excited to see that one I might explode!

Because it’s so hot here in summer, we often do movie-days-in, where we rent movies and eat snacks all day. This summer I anticipate a marathon of Harry Potter happening, since we’re planning to go to Universal Studios next fall. I also can’t wait to watch Clueless with Jordan. I know, it’s entirely inappropriate, but I have been dying to watch it with her forever!

What movies are you looking forward to? Regardless of whether you’re binge watching at home or going to the theatre, you need snacks, and these Movie Candy Krispies Treats are THE snack you need!

  1. Clueless is a great pick. I’ve always wanted to watch Ferris Bueller with my kids, but that will have to wait. And we’re almost ready for The Princess Bride! As far as new ones, I’m excited about the new Star Trek in July! Yep, nerd. I know.
This is the perfect movie snack! I love my krispie treats blinged out with candy!

  2. I can’t wait for Secret Life of Pets and Finding Dory either! And I’d totally sneak some of these krispies into the theater too. 🙂

  3. There are SO many movies I want to see with the kids this Summer. We’ve already gone to see Jungle Book, but Lucy is BEGGING to go see it again. These little treats are such a fun and easy Summer project!

  4. I’d love to hang out watching movies and snacking on these Bars all the days!

  5. These would be great for sleepovers too!  What a simply perfect idea!

  6. I don’t have any kids to show age-inappropriate movies to, but I do have a boyfriend that loathes the outdoors, loves movies and has a weird affinity for rice krispies treats. I have a feeling this will be perfect for date night in!

  7. I am a Rice Krispies Treats addict! Seriously if I could have that or a fancy schmancy dessert, I’d go with the RKTs. I would go to town on your movie snacks!

  8. How fun! I love rice krispie treats so much and I love how you added the movie candy 🙂

  9. These look perfect for a movie at home!  I just watched Dirty Dancing with our 13-year-old, which was a little inappropriate, but nothing compared to what she has heard boys in her class discussing.  Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was in our local movie theater a few weeks ago, so we saw that too.  Anyone…..? Anyone……?

  10. oh my gosh. i could eat these all day. such an amazingly delicious recipe dorothy – i cannot get enough of the photos too!

  11. These looks great…wish I had a few right now! I’m looking forward to the new Bourne movie too.

  12. OMG these bars!!!  YUM!!!  We are out of school YAY!!!!!!  I can’t wait for Finding Dory and Secret Life Of Pets!

  13. I don’t have kids, only the husband at home and a cat.

These bars are being created and we are gonna sit down and watch some old classics 😉

    Thanks for the inspiration

  14. Please don’t get a pug. They are so plagued with health problems that I don’t think it’s in any way humane to breed them (or other flat-faced animals).

They can’t breathe properly. They overheat. They often need surgery to reconstruct their airways. They have spinal problems because the vertebrae are misshaped to form the curled tail. Their eyes protrude so much they are prone to injury (and can actually pop out). They have dental problems. Their skin folds get infected. They can’t run far or spend time playing in the sun.

That cute snorting and snoring? Sign of a dog that’s in constant respiratory distress.

Please get a dog with a sensible nose.

  15. These are definitely the treats to eat while binge watching! I’d definitely cover them in Reese’s pieces and Three Musketeers. Can’t go to a movie without them!

  16. I am always up for a good Rice Krispies Treat!  I don’t think fifth grade is too young for Clueless.  I think most PG-13 movies are okay.  When I was in third grade I was obsessed with My Best Friend’s Wedding.  Some things went over my head, but I still love that movie to this day.

  17. We never go to the movies anymore, and I want to change that. I usually bring tupperware to sneak into the movies with snacks. But, now, all I am craving are these treats! I want to see “Me Before You,” but I’m reading the book first.

  18. Me too… looking forward to summer holidays! Open houses, recitals and don’t even want to start on the unfinished projects! I had to stay up with my son last Monday to help him finish up.

  19. Fancy-ing up ready made snacks is so easy and so much fun! These DO look like the perfect all-in-one movie snack…but I might still need popcorn.:) Happy almost summer! (Though here in Missouri, my daughter, the teacher, is already doing a summer break happy dance!)

  20. 😮 these are beautiful and looks so tasty! I hope I remember their existence the next time I make sweets!
