Strawberry Fluff Salad is a creamy dessert salad with strawberry jell-o mix and fluffy marshmallows – it’s the perfect no-bake dessert or sweet side dish – you can even make it in individual cups. Dessert salads are so good and this one is perfect during strawberry season!

Social media introduced me to fluff salads – I’d never had them growing up. Apparently they’re a crowd favorite – and my normal recipes (like banana pudding fluff or Oreo fluff) use pudding mix, but this is a jello salad recipe that’s a creamy fruit salad with tons of fresh strawberry flavor too!

How to Make this Strawberry Fluff Recipe
- Easy strawberry fluff starts with dry jello powder. You don’t need to actually make the jello; you just mix it with pineapple.
- I like using pineapple tidbits or crushed pineapple. You can use pineapple chunks if you want a chunkier salad, but traditionally it’s smoother.
- You need to drain some of the pineapple juice out of the can before adding the powder otherwise your fluffy jello salad will be too watery.
- I always add fresh strawberries to this as well – they add a nice flavor boost.
- I added sour cream to temper the sweetness of all the ingredients. You’ll notice that many fluff salad recipes add this or cottage cheese (or even cream cheese) for that reason.
- The marshmallows are the star of the show; be sure to use fresh mini marshmallows.
- Whipped topping makes this super simple – you can use fresh whipped cream but I prefer Cool Whip. Whipped cream tends to get weepy after a day or so, which is why I prefer whipped topping instead.
- Important Note: this needs to be chilled before serving so be sure to plan ahead.

Variations
You can make this delicious dessert in so many ways!
- Make Orange Fluff using orange jello and mandarin oranges.
- Mix up the flavors of this salad by adding fresh raspberries or even add blueberries for color.
- Instead of sour cream you can make strawberry cheesecake fluff by using 4 ounces of softened cream cheese.
- You can use one of the many jello flavors they make to easily change the flavor.
Step-by-Step Photos

- When mixed with the dry jello mix, the pineapple will look watery and chunky.
- Once you’ve mixed in sour cream and cool whip, the mixture should be smooth except for the pineapple pieces. The jello should be dissolved at this point.
- It will thicken as it chills but the final product is looser than some other fluff recipes.

I was also wondering about the sour cream that was mentioned but not included in the actual written recipe directions?
Hi Sherry, the instructions indicate to stir in the sour cream and cool whip at the same time. Hope this helps!
In both the Variations and the Step-by-step photos you mention sour cream, but it is not mentioned in the actual recipe. Can you please clarify? Thanks!
I have saved all your fluff recipes, I love them as much as you do!! Ha- I have 6 Cool whips in my Walmart cart!
