Limoncello Spritz Cocktail

This Limoncello drink comes straight from Italy – it’s the lemon cousin to the popular aperol spritz recipe. I do not like aperol at all, so when we were in Italy I decided to try a spritz with limoncello and oh my goodness, it was fantastic.

This recipe is incredibly easy to make and I love it for any summer parties or get togethers that I have planned. A drink like this one is so light and refreshing that you’ll crave it wherever you go. Transport yourself to the beaches of the Almalfi Coast with this delicious cocktail recipe.

  • Garnishes: Sliced lemon and fresh mint sprigs are the perfect garnish, but you can also use rosemary sprigs, fresh basil, fresh thyme or any fresh herbs.

Expert Tips

  • You can adjust the alcohol measurements to your liking. If the drink is too strong for you, add more club soda. If it’s not strong enough you can add more Prosecco.
  • Want a sweeter drink? Add some simple syrup.
  • Take the lemon peels and add a lemon twist on the rim of the glass.
  • You can also make a pitcher of limoncello spritz by following the 1:2:3 ratio. Multiply by how many you want to make and you’ve got a party punch.

Recipe Notes

  • Traditionally, a spritz is served in a balloon wine glass. Depending on the size of your glass you might need more ice…or more limoncello.
  • To make a pitcher: follow the ratio 1:2:3. One part club soda, 2 parts limoncello, 3 parts Prosecco. So if you want to serve 8 drinks you would use 8 ounces club soda, 16 ounces limoncello and 24 ounces Prosecco, etc.

  1. Yum! All of my favorite cocktails are citrus. I don’t like my cocktails super sweet, so your added fizz makes this Lemon Drop a wonderful summer thirst quencher! I am guessing your Moms’ Night Out was a huge success!

  2. Cheers to the the days when the “No Waste Rule” gets applied to cocktails! Your Fizz concoction looks so refreshing and perfect for Summer!!! I think I was the only person in Italy that didn’t like limoncello but you mix it all up in a sweet cocktail and make it fizzy and all bets are off!

  3. I’m too cheap to buy flavoured vodka too but I always have a couple bottles of the regular stuff in my freezer. I really need to buy limoncello so that I can make your gorgeous cocktail. Seriously Dorothy, I want a few glasses of this right now (and it’s only 10 am). Beautiful photos too!

  4. I love the sound of this! Lemon drops are favorite of mine.. And who doesn’t love something fizzy!?

  6. This does look fantastic (as I drink my coffee at 8am). I have issues with vodka after a night of one too many cranberry/vodkas back in 2008 lol. We’ve had the same giant bottle in the cupboard since 2009, but I think the limoncello could really balance out that flavor.

  7. LOVE LOVE LOVE! I wish I could have one of these right now! Perfect drink for summer!

  8. Such fantastic drinks. They are looking really, really good. Perfect for a summer party!

  9. I love the sounds of this! And I know what you mean about all the flavored vodkas, there are SO many.options.out.there now! The issue is not only the cost but my real issue is storage space. Between all the flours, sugars, and mixing bowls I own, there’s not nearly enough room for liquor in my small kitchen 🙂 pinned!
