What is a Cupcake Martini?

This is one of my favorite martini recipes: it combines a lemon drop martini with a cupcake flavored cocktail. Lemon cake in a glass!

If you love sweeter cocktails or fun flavors, this is the recipe for you. Cake batter and lemon flavor – with just 3 ingredients!

ingredients in the lemon cupcake martini.

3 Ingredient Martini

  • Cake vodka – So many brands have cake flavored vodka nowadays, so buy your favorite. If you can’t find cake flavored, buy vanilla vodka or whipped vodka.
  • Limoncello – You must have a bottle of this. Not only is it great in this recipe but it’s fantastic as a shot.
  • Club sodaI top it off with club soda because I’m a lightweight.

How to make a Lemon Cupcake Martini

  1. Shake over ice, then strain into your glass.
  2. I also rimmed the glass with frosting and sprinkles, because cake. Plus, birthday and all that.

Expert Tips

  • Use vanilla vodka or whipped vodka if you can’t find cake vodka
  • Want a creamy cocktail? Swap the club soda with cream or half and half
  • Nonpareils will stick to the glass better than jimmies.

Everyone who has tried this cocktail is in LOVE with it. The cake vodka gives it the cake flavor, the limoncello brings the lemon. It really does taste like lemon cupcakes!!

  1. Oh my goodness! This sounds so decadently delish! 🙂 I’d never heard of cake-flavored vodka until I saw this recipe! oh my! I need to try one of these!

  2. I’ve never had a lemon cupcake martini but now I can’t wait to try it. I’m not much of a drinker but who could pass this up. I certainly hope that year 39 is one of your best so far without any hiccups that you have to endure.

I too celebrated a HUGE bday this year and my kids took me to Australia to Bungee jump from one of the highest jumps in the world. I’ve never Bungee jumped before and while it was on their bucket list for me to do, I was terrified but so glad I did it. Enjoy what’s left of your 30s. Life does seem to get more complicated the older we get – I don’t know why, I thought it would get easier. Just stay true to yourself and follow your heart. Happy Birthday!!!

  3. Happy birthday girl… From a fellow 39er… I’m not 100% urge how this happened either. ? But this beverage? Will be happening  waaaaay before my 40th! Lol. And my husband is 19 years older than me- boom.

  4. Happy Birthday, drinks are on me this weekend!! Although I wish I was having this drink! Every time I hear ‘cake by the ocean’ I think of your drink of the same name 🙂

What a great list of goals, wow! Consulting biz, had no idea but yes you’d be fabulous!

  5. OMGosh…. can you make me this? Please?

Happy 39th my friend, so happy to be celebrating it with you! Don’t be afraid of your 40’s these are the best years of my life so far! xox

  6. Happy belated birthday, Dorothy! I am a sucker for martinis, and this looks right up my alley. I know you can accomplish everything on your bucket list!

  7. Happy belated birthday, Dorothy! Sounds like you have some wonderful goals to look forward to. And the blog consulting service sounds perfect for you. And, of course, this drink does, too. So pretty and perfect for celebrating your birthday.

  8. I’d be your first customer in your consulting business. Seriously, I have a long way to go before reaching my full potential, but my day job gets in the way. I could always use some help!
    And yoga helps, too. 🙂
I’m sorry last year was tough, but it sounds like you came out the other side stronger and more self-aware. It’s one of those silver lining things.
This martini? Divine. Happy birthday, my bloggy friend!
