A Strawberry Banana Smoothie is perfect for breakfast or snack! It is a copycat of the Strawberries Wild from Jamba Juice and it is so good – but you’re making it at home so it’s cheaper and better for you!

Smoothies are really fun because they are so customizable. You can change so many of the ingredients to match your lifestyle, like choosing whether or not you want to make it dairy free or if you want to add-in something extra. As long as you have the staple strawberries, bananas and apples–you’re all good!
Apples are so great for smoothies because they add so much flavor, but it’s not overpowering. When it comes to the fruit it can be fresh or frozen, either way this smoothie tastes amazing!
This is an easy recipe with ingredients you probably already have on hand, and you can vary it to fit your needs and likes!

Ingredient Notes
- Unsweetened vanilla almond milk: You can use whatever milk works for you.
- Nonfat vanilla greek yogurt: You can substitute for any yogurt.
- Banana: Freeze ahead of time.
- Strawberries: Can’t have a strawberry smoothie without strawberries!
- Apple slices: Gives a great extra flavor.
- Sweetener of choice optional: Like honey, agave, or stevia.
- Substitutions: Skip the banana and add extra yogurt or more of any fruit.

How to make a strawberry banana smoothie
- I like to use a high speed blender for best results.
- If you have an older blender, you may need to add more liquid.
- You can add as much or as little sweetener as you want (to taste).
- Blend until smooth – for a thicker smoothie use less liquid.

Expert Tips
- If you want something extra, add protein powder!
- Want a sweeter smoothie? Add some honey, agave, or stevia sweetener.
- Slice and freeze your banana and strawberries about 2 hours ahead of time if you don’t already have them frozen. It helps the consistency of the smoothie.
- The more liquid you have the less thick it will be. If you want it thicker add more of the fruit. Even a little ice can make a smoothie thicker.
- Store any leftover smoothie in the fridge; just shake or stir to mix before drinking.

This smoothie is such a creation of beauty! SO glad I saw this…will be making it soon. I LOVE smoothies, but haven’t gotten into the habit of adding apple. What’s wrong with me??? That’s about to change. Thanks –
Wow what a great idea! I have never even had the Jamba Juice one since I am too el cheapo and just make my own LOL Love strawberry smoothies and this is so pretty! Pinned
This looks so good right now! On a warm day like today, this would be my dream. Bookmarked and happening soon!
Cleaning the blender is THE worst. But I read on Pinterest (go figure) that you can just add soap and water to the blender cavity, blend it, and rinse it out. Viola! Easy peasy. Almost as easy as making JAMBA JUICE AT HOME!! Holy crap, this is life-changing!
Oh wow, I had no idea the prices had gone up so much! I haven’t been to a Jamba Juice in ages – there are several in my home town in CA, but I’m pretty sure there’s not a single one in Michigan, so I’m super excited that now I can make this one at home! Thanks for sharing the recipe 🙂
