Chocolate Granola Bark

If you make a candy out of chocolate and granola that means it’s healthy, right?

This Chocolate Granola Bark recipe has only 2 ingredients! It's easy, fast, and foolproof and is the best snack!

I’ve discovered a new love: Barre classes. Have you ever done them? It’s kind of like pilates but a lot of the class uses a ballet bar. Guess what? It’s freaking amazing. I leave and I feel all glowy and stretchy and…happy.

{Exercise making me happy…nope. Never felt like that before.}

I have three trial classes to my local barre studio…and then I’m totally joining. I think my body was craving this sort of exercise; a mind and body workout. Also? It kicks my butt. I’m not overly sweaty or sore but within 3 hours of class I’m falling asleep at my computer.

I just finished class before I started writing this, so I better hurry up. Tons to do and by lunch I’m going to want a nap.

So, let’s talk granola. Granola Bark, that is.

Granola Bark Recipe

A few weeks ago Cascadian sent me some of their newest snack, two packages of granola bark. (I worked with them back in February and the gift was a thank you.) I considered both packs single serve, and they were both gone in 24 hours. #wishIwasjoking

As soon as I opened the package and realized that Granola Bark is now a thing I flashed back to this post. I guess I was ahead of my time. White chocolate and granola…that was my idea of a January “healthy” treat. I don’t change much, lol.

Back then my version of granola bark didn’t take off. It may have been too avante garde for 2012…or it may have been the crappy photos. We’ll go with I was “forward thinking” and granola in food hadn’t taken off yet. Or something…

The second the bark they sent me was gone I was craving more. So I decided to make my own. Because, well. Food blogger.

I’m calling this version Chocolate Granola Bark. You could also call it Chocolate Peanut Butter Granola Bark, because I used peanut butter granola. You can use any kind of chocolate and any kind of granola (store bought or homemade) that you want.

Easy 2 ingredient Chocolate Granola Bark made with chocolate and your favorite granola!

There are only TWO ingredients in this recipe. TWO! And it takes about 10 minutes.

I love those kinds of recipes, don’t you? And the variations are endless. Think of the possibilities:

  • White chocolate chips, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, semi-sweet, butterscotch, cinnamon, mint, you name your favorite!
  • Granola – the sky is the limit. Pick your favorite! I used the same decadent peanut butter granola I used in this recipe. Chocolate, vanilla, with fruit, without…you name it it’ll be good.

It’s way too easy to make this. Pretty much you spread out your melted chips and spread the granola over the top. Let it harden, then break it up and eat it.

Easy to make, easy to eat. Good thing granola is healthy…right?

Easy Chocolate Granola Bark Recipe with only 2 ingredients.

Let’s just go with it. It’s healthy and it’s also a good after-Barre snack. Or something?

Did you make this recipe?

Chocolate Granola Bark

This chocolate granola bark recipe has only 2 ingredients! Easy to make and so good to eat.

  • 1 bag (12 ounces) semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips

  • 2-4 cups of your favorite granola cereal (I used Peanut Butter Granola)

  1. Melt chocolate in a microwave safe bowl on 50% power in 30 second increments, stirring between each, until melted and smooth. If it seems like the chocolate is having trouble melting you can add 1-2 teaspoons of vegetable oil or crisco to aid in the melting process.

  2. Spread melted chocolate on a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper. Spread into a large rectangle (no bigger than 10x15). The bigger the rectangle, the less chocolate per bark piece. A smaller rectangle will have thicker chocolate. Your choice.

  3. Spread granola evenly over chocolate. Press lightly to adhere. Chill until set. Break into pieces and serve. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Use your favorite granola and chocolate to make your perfect combo.

  1. I know I’ve mentioned this already, Dorothy, but barre has changed my life. And my body. And my outlook on exercise. I used to endlessly cardio just for maintenance, and now I alternate barre and cardio. My muscles are so much more defined and my body is leaner and more efficient. Plus, I’m happier with it. I strongly recommend Physique 57! They have great DVDs.
I can also strongly recommend this totally healthy bark. It looks so good! I love the idea of putting granola on bark!

  2. I haven’t ever done a barre class. Usually hip, new exercise programs tend to take a few months (or years) before hitting the east coast. This sounds like something that I would enjoy though. This granola bark is SO EASY! I love that it’s only three steps and still a huge crowd pleaser. Bark makes a great gift and I know my friends and family would love this version.

  3. Oh this bark looks amazing, Dorothy! I love that you combined chocolate and granola! It’s the perfect sweet treat to munch on. Pinned!

  4. Heck yes! Love the combo of chocolate and granola  – this is genius. I have yet to try barre class but I’ve heard such great things about it.

  5. Barre class sounds like a great workout! Granola is so addicting, I never can stop eating it. Love the idea of putting it on bark!

  6. I’ve never tried a barre class but I would like to! It’s the best when you find an exercise you actually enjoy. 🙂

I love the chocolate and peanut butter combo in this granola bark! Pretty much anything with chocolate and granola is a win with me!

  7. I’ve been curious about the barre classes – glad to hear that you enjoy them. I think I’m too cheap to sign up!

  8. Oh boy, this looks amazing.  It is too easy and looks too tasty.  Dangerous, I tell ya!  ; )

  9. Ooo I love barre class – I feel so relaxed yet “woo hoo exercise!” after! This bark is a great idea – bark is perfect but granola bark is extra perfect; pinned!

  10. This would be my favorite snack/treat ever!  Love this mash-up, Dorothy, and can’t wait to try it!

  11. I haven’t had or made a bark in awhile. And now all of a sudden I am craving it! Love that you used granola! I would have never thought of that!

  12. So this is healthy right? And most certainly a breakfast recipe 🙂

  13. I vote for this being healthy! So… I’ve heard amazing things about barre from several people now and I feel like it’s a sign. There are no barre classes offered in my area but I found barre3 online classes. Anyone tried those? I’m an exercise-hater but I need to start moving my booty!

  14. I have never heard of barre class but they sound like it is something I need to check out.  I need to do something with this body of mine (like feed it some of this amazing looking granola bark 🙂 )  And it is totally healthy since it has granola and if you use dark chocolate you get the antioxidants, right??

  15. I have a set of Barre 3 exercise videos that I just started using. I think they are very intense yet I really like them. I think that for me they are just what I need to jump start my usual walking daily exercise routine.

  16. You are an innovator, Dorothy!  Love this idea.  And thanks for the tip about barre classes – Zumba is getting old.

  17. I’ve never tried a barre class before, but I’ve kind of been wanting to!  I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying them, I think I need to venture out a give them a try.  By the way, granola bark is a genius idea!  Especially when it’s just two ingredients!

  18. I’ve always wanted to try a barre class and I’m really glad to hear you’re enjoying it so far 🙂 Love this granola bark! Such a great idea!

  19. Oh my gosh, this is genius!!! Now I really can have candy for breakfast!

Barre workouts – I tried a home one and OMG I nearly died. The next day I could hardly move. And the next day. And the next day. I did it a few more times, I liked the idea and the actual exercises as it was different and I found it fun, but my goodness my body couldn’t take it. I felt 80 for a week after haha!!!!

  20. What a great idea! You now have me wanting chocolate for breakfast!

  21. Since this is granola…I’m totally calling this breakfast 🙂  Love when I can have chocolate as breakfast!  I have heard good things from barre…I would love to try it, but I’m worried I will not like it.  Exercise has to be intense and moving for me to get into it…

  22. I haven’t had breakfast yet and now this is all I want! The barre class sounds like fun. I need to see if a friend wants to join me.

  23. Granola = totes health food. Thank you for this breakfast bark recipe!

  24. You’re definitely ahead of your time, and I must try barre (and bark!) with you!

  25. Genius! The calories absolutely don’t count in these!

  26. Well that looks pretty awesome!  What a great idea, totally makes candy healthy!  🙂  I have been wanting to try barre classes, but can’t justify paying for exercise classes elsewhere when I already pay for a gym membership!  Hoping my gym will eventually get barre though cause I’ve heard it’s amazing.

  27. I’m a dancer and that’s how I get in ALL my cardio ( i had a MAJOR running kick earlier this year, but I just couldn’t find time to get to the gym and sustain my treadmill ways). Dance is awesome for burning calories while also gaining muscle 🙂 Also I’m obsessed with granola and I have NEVER thought of granola bark! Gotta give this a try 🙂

  28. This granola. OMG! Also, can we just discuss how adorable your nails are? Those polka-dots! I die.

  29. This is the best of both worlds. Granola with chocolate is the perfect balance!

  30. YUM!!! This looks amazing!

  31. You have me super intrigued about barre! I want to try it now!! Right along with this granola bark – the two sound great together 🙂 Love the idea of this recipe – all the best things combined into one awesome treat!

  32. So this is bark you were telling us about! It looks and sounds delish!

I’ve heard good things about barre classes – I need to find some around me.

  33. I soooo wanna try out barre classes! I think they’re supposed to be good when you’re pregnant too? so that would be helpful for future lol

and omg you just put granola on chocolate….which is 100% a health food. WOOT!
