This is why this blog is good for me; it holds me accountable. Back in January I set some goals for 2012. Today I checked off one of those goals.

I ran the Race for the Cure, a 5k.

It was timed, but I have no idea how I did. {It doesn’t really matter.}

It’s a really inspirational race, if you’ve never done it. All that pink really makes you think.

I ran it for my step-mother in-law Mary, who is a survivor. And my friend Jackie, who is currently undergoing treatment and will be a survivor too.

And I ran it for someone else, too.

I ran it for me.

Happy Mother’s Day, to myself.

And to all of you too.

Hey, and just for me? Give your ta-ta’s a check tomorrow. It’s just a good thing to do.

xo,

  1. Awww. I got teary just thinking about this! I’ve ran Race for the Cure in Louisville and Salt Lake City and the beginning of the race always brings me to tears. I run it for Aunt Randi who didn’t make the survivor list. Thanks so much for getting me excited to do it again…

  2. You go girl! You are such an inspiration! I hope you know this 🙂 Happy Mother’s Day!! Go, Dorothy!!! xoxo

  3. Wow, Dorothy, you ARE awesome. I’m so proud of you for taking part. My ‘future’ mother in law, Angela, is a survivor too. She fought and won against bowel cancer. I can see in my partner just how bad things were, he’s super protective of his mum now.

    Happy Mother’s day to you too. Hope you have a fantastic Mothering Sunday.
