Homemade Blueberry Frozen Dog Treats
Abby loves it when we make her homemade treats like pupcakes or dog cookies but in the summer we love making frozen dog treats. It’s hot outside and all that ball catching makes them hot – a nice frozen treat will cool them off just like a popsicle for humans.
Your dog will love these because:
- They’re bite size
- Nice and cold
- Full of blueberries!
Just 2 Ingredients
- Blueberries: Use any fresh or frozen blueberries
- Yogurt: Use plain yogurt, any fat content. We always have plain Greek yogurt on hand.
How to make Frozen Dog Treats For Summer
You can make these in an ice cube tray if needed, but a silicone mold is best. You can find silicone molds on Amazon.
I also used a baking syringe to easily pipe the liquid into the molds, but you can also do this with a spoon or measuring cup, or even a piping bag.
1. Yogurt Layer: Line the base of the mold with yogurt in a thin layer. Freeze until solid, at least 20 minutes.
2. Blueberry Layer: Blend blueberries in a blender or food processor (adding a bit of water if needed). Pipe on top the frozen yogurt and freeze again.

Store these in an airtight container in the freezer. they will defrost fast outside the freezer so they must be stored in the freezer at all times and only taken out to feed to your dog.

Blueberry Frozen Dog Treats
Ingredients
- ¾ cup fresh blueberries (if using frozen, thaw first and drain)
- 6 tablespoons plain yogurt (Greek is best)
Instructions
- Place the silicone mold on a small plate or flat object that can be placed in the freezer.
- Spoon a bit of yogurt into the bottom of each mold and flatten it out.
- Place in the freezer for about 20 minutes.
- Place the blueberries in a blender, and blend until smooth.
- Remove the paw prints from the freezer and fill them the rest of the way with the blueberry mixture, using a baking syring or small spoon or cup.
- Place them back in the freezer for another 1 and 40 minutes, or until frozen solid.
- Store in a sealed baggie or container for up to 2 months.

- You can use other fruits as well, but again, be sure they’re safe for your dog to consume.
- You can mix the blended blueberries and yogurt together and then pour it into the mold, if you don’t want to go through the first step of freezing the yogurt layer. You just won’t have the two separate layers there.
- These have to be kept in the freezer or they’ll melt.
