Happy Friday my peeps! I hope you had a wonderful week, full of sugar and hugs. I have SO much to share this week, so let’s get started!

1. During our trip to San Francisco last weekend, my husband and I ate at Scala’s Bistro, and Italian restaurant right off Union Square. It was amazingly good, a definite to-be-repeated restaurant. On their menu, there was this quote, and it spoke to me for obvious reasons. (I, of course, added the word “sugary” in front of “dish” and it really hit home.) It struck such a chord with me, I came home and created a printable for you. Click the link below to download an 8×10 image.

printable with words "the discovery of a new dish does more for the happiness of the human race than the discovery of a star"

2. I again ate my way through another trip. It’s become that thing I do.

A Biscoff Latte at the Biscoff store on Pier 39.

  1. Hi Dorothy,
I love your blog. I would love to enter the contests, but the rafflecopter never works for me no matter how long I wait (five minutes?) or what button I click. Do you have any suggestions?

    1. I’m sorry! That’s so strange! What browser are you using? Maybe I can troubleshoot with Rafflecopter. Is it ALL rafflecopter giveaways, or just mine? We can try and figure it out!

      1. Hi Dorothy,
Sorry for the delay in replying to your questions. Yesterday was annual apartment inspection, and I was up to my ears. I use Firefox, and I have an IMac. And all rafflecopter giveaways do not work for me. It’s probably something stupid I haven’t done properly, but I thought I’d ask you just in case it’s not my fault. Thanks.

      2. Thanks for letting me know! I will check with rafflecopter and see what they tell me!

  2. Shut up! A Biscoff store?! How did I not know that such awesomesness existed!? 🙂

  3. I obviously need to go back to Pier 39, I don’t remember any of those cool places being there…..well maybe it has been 6 years or so. Yikes! I guess I will add it to my itinerary for October, or maybe I should just move back so I can grow crazy huge zucchini as well 🙂 Looks like you had tons of fun!

  4. O.M.G. You’re making me want to book a flight to SF right now. If only I had enough £’s to do so. I’m seriously thinking of selling a kidney or something.

Is it weird that in the UK we call zucchini’s courgettes? And if they get above a certain size, they’re no longer called a courgette, but a marrow instead. Yes, confusing mucho?

And red velvet fried chicken? What the heck? I want some, stat. I’m assuming that the giveaway if only open to US residents too? *sulks off to the corner* Are you only happy with 1 ‘p’? Hehe?

    1. LOL, I’d fly to the UK in a heartbeat for some good chocolate. 🙂 It’s so strange how UK English and USA English can be so different!
