Sunday is the Big Game! Are you excited? I’m excited for the food. Really, that’s all I care about. Well, except for the fact that the 49ers got into the big game this year. That makes me happy too! The last time they won, I was a senior in high school. That was a long time ago, people. A loooooooong time.
Even though Jordan and I won’t be staring at the game the entire time, we still want to eat some good football food. And, a party table is good for every occasion, right? I love a good centerpiece or dessert table, and if I get a chance to make one I will!
I created this table with great deals I found at Walgreens this week, using my Walgreens Mobile App to help me shop and my Balance Rewards card to help me save money!
While I was shopping the sale items at Walgreens, I was trying to come up with a great sweet snack to make. I immediately thought of popcorn. Popcorn treats are always a huge hit at any party. So, let me introduce you to your newest favorite flavor:
Peanut Butter Kitchen Sink Popcorn. I wanted to call this Peanut Butter Reese’s Pieces Hershey’s Candy Bar Muddy Buddy Popcorn, but I thought that title was too long. “Kitchen Sink Popcorn” kind of covered it, don’t you think? Really, you can put whatever you want in this popcorn. Go shopping and buy what’s on sale, that’s what I did! And pretty much everyone I love has a version of this popcorn. Ashton, Jocelyn, Aimee, and Hayely all have awesome versions, to name a few. So I’m adding my own to that impressive list.
I went through Walgreens shopping for my popcorn, picking up what was on sale and what I couldn’t live without (Reese’s Pieces, anyone?) This popcorn is so easy to make and comes together super quick, by just melting together peanut butter and white candy melts and mixing it with the popcorn and other sweets. And it’s oh-so-delicious!
But, you can’t have a Big Game party on sugar alone, now can you? No, you need the other basics of the Football Diet: chips, soda, and pizza.
A party wouldn’t be a party without a fun tablescape. I created this one with a lot of items I found at Walgreens, and with a little help from my computer. I was beyond stoked when I found that 49er duck tape with the other football themed items at the store. It was great for covering up the water bottle labels (and way easier than printing out labels!) A frozen pizza, some chips and Chex Mix, and soda that was on sale rounded out the menu.
I made the Keep Calm printables using my scrapbooking software. I thought it was a cute way to incorporate something fun into the design. And the x’s and o’s backdrop was created with a simple black poster board that I found at Walgreens, along with a white crayon.
{Can you tell I had no idea what I was doing when I drew the x’s and o’s?
}

The Walgreens Mobile App is great for shopping! You can see your local ads on the app, get coupons, and more! And, do you have a Balance Rewards card with Walgreens? It’s totally free, and is a store rewards card, to help you save money. Don’t worry, I always lose those cards too. With the Walgreens Mobile App, you don’t need to bring your card! They can scan the app, or you can enter your phone number at checkout to receive all the great deals. And every point earns you extra savings too!
One of the things I really love about the Walgreens Mobile App is that you can order photos straight from your phone. All those Instagram photos you take? Upload them to the Walgreens Photo Center and order fast! You can also pull photos from Facebook which is awesome. And they can be ready in as little as an hour. I ordered mine when I got to the gym, and they were done when I was finished with my workout!
So, get yourself to Walgreens to plan your Big Game Party! They have some super deals this week on all the football food you love.

And maybe you’ll make some popcorn too. See that muddy buddy in there? I just want to reach in and grab it…
What are you doing for the big game on Sunday?
Ingredients
- 6-7 cups popped popcorn, seeds removed (from 1/3 cup unpopped kernels)
- 1 1/2 cup nuts (peanuts, almonds, or a mix)
- 1 cup Reese’s Pieces
- 2/3 cup chopped Hershey’s candy bars
- 1 cup muddy buddies (from a prepared pack of Chex Mix Muddy Buddies)
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 12 ounces white candy melts
Instructions
- Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Place popcorn (seeds removed!) in a large bowl. Add Reese’s Pieces, candy bars, and nuts. Toss with your hands.
- Melt peanut butter and candy melts together in a microwave safe bowl, on HIGH for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Once the mixture is smooth, pour it over the popcorn mixture and stir carefully.
- Turn popcorn mixture out onto prepared cookie sheet. Spread evenly and let harden. Break into pieces and place in a sealed container. Will keep for up to 3 days, if it lasts that long!
- Use any sort of mix-ins you like: different nuts, candy, whatever. Use what’s on sale!

we need sales and things like that here, we don’t get near as many deals in canada. We do get Areo chocolate so maybe that is why, they think we have it too good as it is;p

Sales are like the rule of thumb here! I think it’s just because they jack up the prices so we feel better about paying what we should be paying in the first place, lol.
Ok, so I saw this first thing this morning and HAD to stop at our Walgreens on the way home…you know for duct tape and reese’s and stuff
My Walgreens apparently didn’t get the memo…no super bowl stuff anywhere. I was so bummed! But this popcorn…it would cheer me up for sure! I love peanut butter and reeses popcorn!!! Your table looks awesome!!!

WHAT? No football stuff? Are they crazy? Hello #moneymakers. I should add that to my shop, lol.
I might have to make something like this to snack on…you know, when we watch Downton Abbey on Sunday night..instead of the Super Bowl. (Scott will be thrilled lol).
We have a Walgreens right down the street. I try my best to stay out of there, lest I buy everything.

LOL, I’d be put out in the cold if I tried that…
Yay, niners! For not caring about football, I actually think I’ll watch this year since our team made it — yippee! And because of the food, OBVIOUSLY. I’m hoping to stuff my face silly and then some. This spread looks fantastic! I am all about the popcorn and that pizza.. simultaneously.

Dorothy. I have been avoiding this post with every fiber of my being. Seriously. I have come back to it like three or four times trying to leave you some comment love, but every time I click over to it, I see the pictures and then quickly find something else to work on! The pictures are too enticing!!! It looks sooooo yummy. I feel like that bag is not nearly big enough for how much I would want to eat if I had one little bite. Pinning. And getting fatter.
I’m a peanut-butter-aholic so this is totally calling my name! I think it’s a must make for this weekend
