Ambrosia Salad Recipe

Ambrosia Salad is a classic creamy fruit salad with oranges and pineapple and cherries and marshmallows in creamy whipped cream - a retro side dish!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Cool Whip , thawed
  • ½ cup (120g) sour cream
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries (stems removed)
  • 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple tidbits
  • 1 (15 ounce) can mandarin oranges
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  • Stir together whipped topping and sour cream until smooth.
  • Drain all fruit very well and pat dry. Remove stems from cherries if they have them. You can cut the cherries in half if you prefer.
  • Fold fruit and marshmallows into cool whip mixture. Chill at least 1 hour before serving.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • Sub greek yogurt for the sour cream
  • Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts and/or 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
