Crazy Sweet Tuesday {Sponsored by Trident}

Welcome to Crazy Sweet Tuesday, where I hope that all of the Fall sweets you link up will make Mother Nature stand up a take a listen to my pleas. It’s going to be 97 next Saturday here, people. Sigh.

I have a confession to make. Well, two confessions.

One, I’m addicted to gum. Like, I’d chew it all day if I could. I see it as an eating deterrent. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Two, I love music…but I am not a music person, if you know what I mean. I love listening to the radio…but never think to turn it on in my house. I have no idea who sings the songs I love…just that they sing them well. So, if you happen to say to me, “I love that new Pink song! Don’t you??” I’ll nod and say yes even though I have no clue what you’re talking about, because I love Pink, so I’ve probably heard and love her new song too.

When Trident contacted me about their See What Unfolds Live campaign, where I would get some free gum and one of my readers would get free gum too, I was stoked.

And then I read about the music part. Which scared me a little.

You see, Trident has a new product, Trident Layers, which combine layers of flavor all into one stick of gum. Peach & Mango, Cherry & Lime, or Strawberry & Citrus (the one I’m totally stoked about).

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to chew away.

Trident is getting you in the mood for the collaboration of flavors by talking about some of the greatest music collaborations of all time, starting with Steve Aoki vs. Duran Duran singing “Hungry Like a Wolf”.

Hungry Like The Wolf

Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Trident.

{Full disclosure? I had to view the video before I remembered how much I loved this song. See? I have issues. The Real Housewives have rotted my brain.}

I started thinking of other music collaborations I love. DJ Google had to help me, but I was reminded of some that I already have on my iPod, and some that I need to download soon. My favorites:

  • Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera, “Moves Like Jagger”
  • Bad Meets Evil (Eminem and Royce Da 5’9) and Bruno Mars, “Lighter”
  • Rihanna and Eminem, “Love the Way You Lie”
  • Nelly and Tim McGraw, “Over and Over”
  • John Travolta and Olivia Newton John, “Summer Nights” (of course, how could I have forgotten that one???)
What are some of your favorite music collaborations? I know you can think of some. Help a girl out, I need new music for my iPod.
And, if you can tell me one of your favorite music collaborations…you can enter to win a years’ supply of Trident gum!
I’m so jealous. If you win, I may have to bum some from you.

Good luck! Chew some for me!

Hey, before we get on with the party…

  20. Thanks for another great party and giveaway!

  21. How about Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney? (That’s just the first that came to mind.)

  22. One of my favourite collaborations is Nelly Furtado and Swollen Members “Breathe” – it has a great beat for running, and it reminds me to breathe. I also love Andrea Boccelli and Sarah Brightman “Time to Say Goodbye”…Run DMC and Aerosmith “Walk This Way”…just to name a few!

  25. Lennon and McCartney

  26. I have a middle schooler, so safe to say that gum is currency in our house, ha ha! And you have most of my favorite collaborations on your list (I’m not the only one with Grease on their iPhone!!!) so I’ll have to go BOB and Haley something or other with Airplanes!

  39. Well, Neil Diamond and I go way back and I mean way back. I always love that mans music! Now as far as this gum thing, what a great giveaway, those flavors are making my mouth water for some. I do hope I can win to try them out.

  40. Favorite is an old one with Mick Jagger and Bette Midler ………and love trident gum.

  41. The way I chew gum this may be a month’s worth ๐Ÿ™‚ I love a good stick of Trident!

  42. First are we twins? I love to chew gum, I easily go through a pack a day if I have it. Easter Bunny and Santa ALWAYS bring gum to the kids and then while they are at school I get to chew it! Second I am the same way about music. I often sing songs in the car from “back in the day” and my kids will ask who sings it or what the name is and I always say ” I have no idea. I just like the song”. Third “Summer Nights” best song ever.

  43. My favorite collaboration was between Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole

  45. I love Christmas music collaborations!

I also have a gum addiction… I have laid off since getting pregnant but I could go through a pack of gum a day. I love the freshness of the first few chews and then I would throw it out. ๐Ÿ˜›

  46. When I was a kid Andy Gibb sang with Marie Osmond on the Donnie and Marie show and I remember how excited I was watching. I was totally into Andy Gibb and it was so cute when they sang together.

  47. Love Trident gum, I always buy the bulk pack at BJ’s but before the month is gone, my little kiddies always chew it up!

Let’s see right now the song and collaboration that I enjoy listening to is Marcia Ambrosius and Daley, we belong together!

  48. Dorothy,
Thanks for hosting ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a lovely weekend.

  49. I’ve tried the Peach Mango kind, delish! My favorite music collaboration is probably Faith Hill and Tim Mcgraw.

  50. This Duran Duran mash up is sick! I can’t wait to show my bf. I love Maynard (Tool) singing with Deftones and Maynard singing with Rage Against the Machine. Epic cameos.

  52. Hmm I not a huge music person, my husband says that I like music from the “awesome 80s” but I like tons of stuff, but more than music I love gum!!! I love the trident flavors, I actually gave the blueberry citris one and I don’t usually like blueberries very much but I LOVE that flavor the best!

  53. I love gum…and the first thing I thought of for music was Elton John and Kiki Dee. I know I am dating myself, oh well!

  54. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “It’s Your Love”… No matter what I am doing I think of the day the hubby and I got married.
