Chef’s Planet Nonstick Ovenliner & Messy Recipe Contest {Giveaway}

I hate cleaning. Like, I would rather be forced to jump from a plane while eating beets than vacuum.

But there are certain chores I dislike more than others.

I’d rather clean the toilet than the shower.

I’d rather wash baseboards than empty the dishwasher.

I’d rather do anything except vacuum…with one exception: cleaning my oven.

I have to admit…I, um. don’t. Clean my oven, that is. I tried once. Bought some spray and everything. Then the nozzle on the spray can broke at first press and, well. I gave up. I think I did run the cleaning cycle…before we moved out of the last house. So, you know. The new people wouldn’t run screaming.

I figure…something that gets that hot is kind of always clean. Right?

{Don’t answer that.}

One thing that I do a lot of this time of year is bake. And, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. It’s pie central around here. Nothing messes up an oven more than pie.

Normally, I put everything I bake on a cookie sheet that is lined with foil. (Foil = no need to actually wash the cookie sheet. Am I right?)

But sometimes you make something that is too big for a cookie sheet. Like, say. A slab pie.

When I made the blueberry slab pie a few weeks ago, I knew it was going to boil over. All that juicy blueberry pie filling – how could it not? Which is why I was excited to try my newest toy:

A Nonstick Ovenliner by Chef’s Planet. A nonstick ovenliner is a time saver. You place it on your oven rack (it fits standard sized ovens, and can be cut to fit if needed) and it catches all the crumbs, spills, and other gunky stuff that boils over from your food. You can place it on the bottom rack, as shown in the above photo, or you can place your pan of food directly on the liner, which is what I did.

That’s my Pumpkin Bread Pudding Pie, right on top the oven liner. It didn’t spill over like I thought it would, but the liner was there, just in case.

The Blueberry Slab pie performed as expected. Having the ovenliner was great because my jelly roll pan would not have fit on any of my cookie sheets. That blueberry stickiness would have ended up on the bottom of my oven and there would have been smoke and burned blueberry smell all over the house. {Ew.}

The best part? It’s totally nonstick. And, they mean it – it really is. In fact, when I lifted the liner out of the oven to clean it, the blueberry gunk slid right off. No trace of it was left on the liner, resulting in super easy clean-up, which is something I live for.

I swear, this ovenliner is my new favorite kitchen gadget. I’m using it in my oven from now on. Then I really won’t have to clean it. 😉

  1. In my experience anything I make with cinnamon and butter makes a mess of my oven-breads, pies, etc. so I’d def be excited to have this!

  2. I’d make my husband’s favorite pot pie {he’s been bugging me for weeks}–it always, always bakes over, and umm….I don’t really clean my oven, either.

  5. Definitely a pecan pie! My mom uses the foil oven liners. I tried it here and it like, cooked the liner. So I stopped and now my oven is messy. So is my stove.

  6. I would bake some kind of pie. One time I baked a peach pie and a pizza at the same time. The peach pie was on the top rack and dripped onto the pizza which was on the lower rack. That made for an interesting flavor combination, ha ha!

  7. My pecan pie ALWAYS spills over. That is the first thing I would make!

  8. Pie! Marionberry pie, to be exact. And apple.

  9. Oh my goodness, I neeeed this! Stuff is always boiling over in my oven, making a smoky, icky mess. The first thing I’d make? My homemade mac + cheese, which is always prone to a boil-over!

  10. I would use it for Lasagna! I think I always over fill my dish because it always runs over!!

  11. oh I cannot win, but I finally cleaned my oven last month, and used the clean cycle, I was all, I am awesome. Then Hubby spilled something in it the next day, I may have wanted to kill him.

  12. We rarely clean our oven, so this would be ideal. Most of my baked things don’t ooze over, but our Christmas turkey is probably one of the messiest things.

  13. I think putting the baked item right on the oven liner would be best…that way you don’t have to worry about cleaning the rack from any drippings!

  15. Lasagna would be my messiest, totally over load the casserole dish. I have carpal tunnel real bad so cleaning the oven, forget it.

  16. There is so many things I bake that boil over. Recently though it was a peach cobbler.

  17. I baked two cherry pies for Thanksgiving and they made a pretty big mess!

  18. bacon… I heard you can make it in your oven. I’ve always wanted to try it, but haven’t dared because of the mess!

  23. I just made a chicken tamale pie that was a little much for the pan I had it in and it oozed over the sides. This product would definitely come in handy!

  24. i am the same way. uhg hate oven cleaning! that horrible smell the self cleaning options has yucky. so this is a great idea and a great giveaway!
