It has been waaaaaay too long since I did one of these posts! Let’s get right to it. 🙂

graphic "every accomplishment starts with the decision to try"

1. I shared this quote at Online BlogCon last week, and I wanted to share it here. It’s so true – in all facets in life. I’m kind of a pessimist by nature, and I’m always afraid of trying new things. This blog has taught me that trying can be scary – but it can lead to something great. I’m so glad I hit publish that first day three years ago – because what I’ve accomplished since then has made me prouder of myself than I’ve ever been.

2. The words “slumber party” are sort of an oxymoron, don’t you think? Jordan went to one last weekend. While the night alone was awesome…the reward was cut short by her lack of slumber. #grumpybear

3. Speaking of #hashtags, have you seen the skit with Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon? It’s so #freaking #hilarious. And I totally make the #hashtag #handsignal now.

4. My favorite recipes lately:

Caramel Apple Gooey Bars

Halloween Fudge

Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal Cookie Cups

Cake Mix Soft Pretzels

5. Do you know Katrina over at Katrina’s Kitchen? I guest posted for her last week. I made Dairy-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies. They were just as good as a regular butter-filled cookie, but good for those with allergies!

6. I am currently obsessed with my Erin Condren Life Planner. It really does help organize your life!

7. I am a prop hoarder.

So I bought a new cabinet from Ikea. I almost filled it.

8. These two recipes went insane on my Facebook page last week!

Pumpkin BTS Poke Cake by Something Swanky

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Bars by Back for Seconds

9. I love, love, love this bracelet that Ashton got me for my birthday. It’s from Bits of Sunshine.

Those are all slices of pie that I’ve made on my blog! This tart, this pie, this pie, these mini pies, and this fudge.

10. I want to say thank you to Shari’s Berries for featuring me as one of their top 100 dessert bloggers to follow on Twitter! I’m humbled by my company on that list!

11. Hayley got me this cup for my birthday. And it’s sooooo true. But we could also add blogging and OBC to that list.

12. Lisa and I got to hang out for dinner and we didn’t even instagram a photo! We were too busy gabbing. 🙂

13. I planked pi!

14. Finding a trainer for the gym is like finding a therapist; sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right. I signed up for some sessions to get me through the crazy of the last few weeks and now I wish I had a money tree in the backyard to pay for more. BTW, if you go to Crunch in the Sacramento area, I have a great trainer to recommend. I haven’t once felt triggered by my sessions – because he listened to me and we’re not focusing on numbers or food.

15. The new season of TV started and I was so crazy with OBC ’13 that I forgot to tape any new ones. !!!!! What am I missing?

I hope you all have a great week! I’ll leave you with Jordan being…Jordan. Enjoy.

  1. Congrats on the top 100 list! I LOVED that quote from OBC! The bracelet from Ashton is awesome – so personal! And I love the hashtag video – saw that in the OBC fb group. I showed in to my co-workers and now we are constantly doing the hand signal 🙂

  2. You should be proud of yourself, Dorothy. You have accomplished SO MUCH!!
    That bracelet is adorable 🙂
Thanks again for sharing my Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Bars – you rock!

  3. Out of all your props, I love your straws the most:) They are SO cute! And planking pi -> perfection right there. Congrats on the top 100 list!!!

  4. I’ve been considering an Erin Condren life planner. They are a little pricier than I typically spend, but they look and sound awesome ! A good organizer is priceless, I think 🙂

    1. I know, I didn’t buy one forever because they’re so darn expensive. But it’s amazing, and I love it. SO worth the money!

  5. Totally love that bracelet from Ashton – sooo cute! Congrats on planking pi – ridiculously awesome 🙂 Hope this week is more relaxing than the last 3.14 have been!

  6. I love these posts, Dorothy. I think it’s adorable that your pie bracelet is personalized!
Maybe I need to find a good trainer…, I feel like it’s hard to find someone I’m not going to hate/disagree with, because I feel like I’ve lost faith in every instructor I’ve met in Missouri for one reason or another. I’m glad you found someone who works for you! All blog profits you make should go toward your gym stuff (it kind of makes sense since you’re a dessert blogger lol). 🙂

    1. YES, I agree. He really is amazing – he totally makes me feel like I’m a rock star. NO ONE has ever said I’m good at exercise and he always goes on and on about it. I know he’s just doing it because it’s his job, but it totally makes my self-esteem bloat, which I need sometimes. 🙂 And I told him – no food or numbers and he’s stayed far away from those topics!

  7. congrats on finding a great trainer….I never have. Ever. I stopped trying about 10 years ago and just torture myself all by myself, don’t need to pay for it. LOL But seriously it would be nice to have someone. Your therapist analogy is spot on though!

    Planking pi. <—Only you.

And I can see why those recipes are blowing up. Going to pin one of your faves now.

Oh and Viraltag, as you said, totally wonky for me tonite. Cannot get anywhere with it. Totally glitchey? Hopefully resolves by the a.m.

    1. Girl, you don’t need a trainer. You’re already in amazing shape! 🙂

It was totally wonky for me this am. I was having an anxiety attack in my hotel room because none of the pins were going! I think it’s fixed now. 🙂
