Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week.

Before I bore you with my weekly recap, let’s talk TV, mmkay? Specifically, Top Chef. How many of you love that show? I am obsessed with it, and have been since the beginning, 10 seasons ago! Thanks to Bravo and Social Chorus, I’m going to be posting occasionally about the 10th season, Top Chef: Seattle. It’s a way to get me a little bit more connected to one of my favorite shows.

Top Chef airs on Bravo on Wednesday nights at 9pm EST. This past week, two contestants were eliminated, but {SPOILER ALERT!} my beloved CJ was saved. (I’ve loved him since his first season on the show!) You know what really shocked me about this weeks’ episode? They made dessert and it was all good! That never happens, and then they all complain about how horrible and beneath them dessert making is.

At which point I laugh at them and tell them they got their “just desserts” by being eliminated for using box cake mix or something. 😉

I loved all the ice cream desserts they made for the 50s throwback challenge. What was your favorite dessert? I’m thinking I might try to recreate some of the desserts they make (if and when they do). What do you think?

Another awesome thing this season is that Last Chance Kitchen is back – and there is a Save a Chef Competition going on. When your favorite eliminated contestant loses at #LCK (Last Chance Kitchen), you can tweet or text to vote them back on the show! How cool is that? This week I totally voted #SaveChefChrissy. Who would you vote for?

Be sure to follow along during the show, I’m going to try my hand at live tweeting. You can tweet about the new season using the hashtag #TopChef. And go vote to #SAC (Save a Chef)!

Okay…now onto my week in sugar:

1. The winner of the Chef’s Planet Nonstick Ovenliner is Shannon M. I’m super happy about that, because she’s a friend of mine too! Let’s all say HI SHANNON!

2. Speaking of giveaways…I have TWO going on now! Lucky you!

  • *Enter to win a $25 gift card to your favorite grocery store by leaving a comment over here.
  • *Enter to win a Heirloom Cookie Sheet (my newest favorite baking tool) here.

3. This week I…

Stuffed some Snickerdoodles.

Skinniezed a great cookie.

Cut fudge into cute little pie wedges.

And added Nutter Butters to another recipe!

4. Ever since Kristin posted about her twice a day plank, I’ve been trying to do it. I must admit, I’m better at doing it in the morning than at night. I forget a lot in the evening, and my time isn’t as good. I totally feel and see results even just doing it once a day, and I’m up to 2:45 minutes holding it! And I’m not the only one doing it:

She’s pretty good too.

5. I got new boots. I *needed* black zip up ones to wear over jeans since my favorite black ones are the kind that just suction to your legs (no zipper). *Cough* Like I needed an excuse. So what if I wore them on Monday just to pick up at school?

Hmmmm. I *think* I need a new brown pair too. Wouldn’t want my brown clothes to get jealous…

6. We’re getting our tree this weekend…I hope. By Sunday the weather forecast is calling for “flooding rains” so we’ll see. And when I say “we’ll see” it means “we’ll see if we all go or if just my husband does.”

7. Here are a few things that caught my eye this week:

Gingerbread Hot Chocolate by Fake Ginger

Candy Cane S’mores by Roxana’s Home Baking

Turtle Tracks Fudge by leaves & flours

Cookies ‘n Cream Peanut Butter Bark by Sally’s Baking Addiction

I swear, this month I’m going to need to by new fat pants.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Thanks for being my friends. I look forward to each interacting with you each and every day!

((hugs))

Dorothy 🙂
